Thai Airways announced major strategic progress and ongoing business revitalization at the “THAI TALK” event held at its Bangkok headquarters. Demonstrating solid financial resilience amidst dynamic global conditions, the national carrier posted a net profit of 1,537 million baht for the second quarter, driven by flexible operational strategies.

To strengthen fleet management, plans are underway to expand total aircraft numbers while streamlining the fleet into four distinct aircraft types. This restructuring optimizes route network administration and operational efficiency, complemented by continuous improvements across passenger touchpoints, including upgraded cabin seats, enhanced in-flight entertainment (IFE), and refined dining services.

A central development is the upcoming 2026/2027 Winter Flight Schedule, running from October 25, 2026, to March 27, 2027, featuring an extensive network of 66 international and domestic routes.

Highlighting regional network expansion is the launch of a new nonstop route between Bangkok and Da Nang, Vietnam, operating 14 weekly return flights starting December 1, 2026. The direct service caters to growing passenger demand between Thailand and Vietnam’s premier economic and tourism hub.

Concurrently, flight frequencies across the CLMV subregion are seeing significant increases. Services on both Bangkok–Vientiane and Bangkok–Yangon routes will expand to 21 flights per week each, with Bangkok–Siem Reap maintaining 7 weekly flights.

For long-haul networks to Europe, Thai Airways operates Bangkok–Amsterdam at 7 flights per week, serving as a primary gateway for continental connectivity. Flight frequencies on high-demand European routes are also scaling up, including Bangkok–Paris to 14 weekly flights, Bangkok–Zurich to 11 weekly flights, and Bangkok–Munich to 10 weekly flights. Within Asia, direct services on the Bangkok–Xiamen route are set to resume at 4 weekly flights.

To foster long-term customer engagement, the carrier introduced the “Junior Sky Explorers” initiative aimed at young travelers and families. The program integrates aviation-themed educational content and entertainment through the onboard IFE system, supplemented by specialized youth amenities and THAI Sky Shop collectibles. In parallel, Royal Orchid Holidays (ROH) has rolled out in-depth destination itineraries in Pakistan, showcasing local culture, history, and natural heritage to deliver a seamless journey from flight to destination and strengthen long-term global competitiveness.
