Embracing the “ONE MIND: Unified Industry” policy, the Ministry of Industry has directed the Department of Industrial Promotion (DIPROM) to partner with the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP) for the official launch of the “Rebuild SMEs Project for Fiscal Year 2026.” The two agencies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to integrate relief, recovery, and capacity-building mechanisms, empowering Thai SMEs to adapt and thrive in the challenging new economy.

Dr. Nattapol Rangsitpol, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, stated that the Thai industrial sector faces multifaceted challenges, including digital disruption, geopolitical shifts, the green economy transition, and intense global competition. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, the government emphasizes upgrading the competitiveness of Thai SMEs, which serve as the primary engine for industrial GDP.

Driven by the “ONE MIND” policy initiated by Minister of Industry Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, this project acts as a vital bridge connecting SMEs to provincial industry offices, regional centers, and financial arms such as SME D Bank and the Pracha Rath Fund. The ultimate goal is to enable Thai SMEs to integrate into the Global Value Chain while fostering a socially and environmentally friendly business ecosystem.

Ms. Nattiya Netayasupa, Director-General of DIPROM, highlighted that SMEs continue to suffer from natural disasters, geopolitical conflicts, soaring energy costs, and supply chain disruptions. DIPROM’s proactive strategy begins with a thorough “business diagnosis” to analyze core issues, followed by strategic planning and Deep Consulting. Funded by the SME Promotion Fund, the project aims to enhance the capabilities of 800 Thai SMEs and generate over 840 million baht in economic value.

Dr. Panita Shinawatra, Acting Director-General of OSMEP, added that amid rising operating costs and rapid digital transformation, OSMEP is focused on upskilling, technological access, and removing financial constraints. This joint effort provides a modern support system for sustainable growth, aimed at reducing economic inequality and expanding the role of SMEs in the national economy in line with Thailand’s strategic goals.
